It all started the day when Rose, Kyra, and Zoey some of our founders, and their family bought a lake house in Crosslake, Minnesota. This house had a restaurant bar and a popcorn machine. Callan one of our most treasured members (or troublemakers) stumbled upon the idea of a restaurant while making a batch of popcorn. The only things we had at the time were a paper bowl of water and popcorn in a bowl. He thought of the idea of making popcorn, and supposedly "selling" it at the bar. Kessley (one of our members) thought that maybe we could sell other things like cookies. Everyone thought that was a good idea, so the Safety Lake Bar began. Everyone came up with ideas of what to serve at the bar. The idea was decided that we should come up with a name so we thought..... and thought. Knowing that we were in the middle of a pandemic, Zoey (Another member) thought that because we were by the lake, and we had to be extra safe because of the pandemic, she wanted a name that suited all of those proposals so, she declared the name The Safety Lake Bar. No one objected, and even more than not hating the idea, everyone loved it. We started to not only serve food but make it. We hosted activities and fundraisers. And so, 3 years later, we are expanding the Safety Lake Bar further, coming up with new ideas, and even merchandise. What started off as just a bar area in a lake house, is now a tradition, a place to hang out and eat food, and most importantly, a place to make new memories.
